Basic chemical and physical data: Colorless crystal (pure). Melting point 46.5 – 49.3℃. Solubility (25℃): 34mg/L in water, greater than 600g/L in acetone and benzene. It is stable at normal temperature and neutral condition, it will hydrolyze in strong acid and strong alkali.
Usage: Prochloraz is an effective fungicide. It is used to control of Pseudocercosporella, Pyrenophora, Rhynchosporium, and Septoria spp., with useful activity against Erysiphe spp., Alternaria, Botrytis, Pyrenopeziza and Sclerotinia spp. Useful activity is also shown against Ascochyta and Botrytis spp., and Cercospora and Erysiphe spp.
Toxicity: Oral Acute oral LD50 for rats 1600-2400, mice 2400 mg/kg. Acute dermal LD50 for rats >2100, rabbits >3000 mg/kg. Not irritating to skin; slight eye irritation (rabbits). Inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rats
Storage: Prochloraz shall be stored in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. It should not be stored or transported along with foods.
