Structural formula:
Molecular mass: 505.20
Basic chemical and physical data: Deltmethrin: white crystal (pure), white powder (technical). Melting point 98 - 101℃. S./dengsity: 0.5g/cm3. Vapor pressure: 1.9x10-8Pa (20℃), 2x10-6Pa (25℃). Solubility: hardly soluble in water (<0.002ppm), steadily soluble in most organic solvents e.g. 50% in acetone, 75% in cyclohexanone, 45% in benzene and xylene. Stability: stable to light and heat, stable in air. It will not decompose at 40℃ during 6-months storage, but it will easily decompose in alkali and chloride of lime.
Usage: Deltamethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that kills insects on contact and through digestion. It is used to control apple and pear suckers, plum fruit moth, caterpillars on brassicas, pea moth, aphids (apples, plums, hops), winter moth (apples and plums), codling and tortrix moths (apples). Control of aphids, mealy bugs, scale insects, and whitefly on glasshouse cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, potted plants, and ornamentals. It also controls numerous insect pests of field crops.
Toxicity: The acute oral LD50 (mg/kg): 128 in male rats, 138 in female rats, 33 in male mice, 34 in female mice. The acute dermal LD50 (mg/kg): greater than 2000 in rats (male/female), greater than 2000 in rabb
Storage: Deltamethrin shall be stored in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. It should not be stored or transported along with foods.
