Basic chemical and physical data: The pure Butachlor is slight yellow liquid, Butachlor technical is amber liquid. M.p. 0.5 – 1.5℃, b.p. 156℃ (66.7kPa), decomposition temperature 275℃, Vapor pressure (25℃) 0.6mPa (4.5x10-6mmHg). Solubility in water: 20mg/L (20℃); it is steadily soluble in most organic solvents such as benzene, ethanol, acetone, hexane, ethyl acetate etc. Butachlor is non-volatile at normal temperature, and it is stable to UV-light. It is stable at pH 7 – 10.
Usage: Butachlor is a selective herbicide with pre-emergency application. It mainly control the annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds in the field of rice. It also can be used on wheat, barley, sugar beet, cotton, earthnut and cabbage etc.
Toxicity: The acute oral LD50 for rats is 3300mg/kg, the acute dermal LD50 is 4080mg/kg in rabbits. It is slightly irritant to skin and eyes in rabbits. The TLm (48h) to carp is 0.88mg/L.
Storage: Butachlor shall be stored in a cool, dry and well ventilated place. It should not be stored or transported along with foods.
Package: 200L drum, or according to the customer’s requirements.
Attention: 1. Keep the water in 3 – 5cm depth for 5 – 7 days after application of Butachlor, and then administrate normally; be careful to use Butachlor in the seedling filed and direct seeding field; the thickness of casing soil shall not be less than 0.5cm. 2. Do not use sand as the casing soil.
